So yesterday there was a big event in Atlanta that was sponsored by Adidas Originals.  Artists, Michael Sieben, Jeremy Fish, and Morning Breath (click names to visit their sites) collaborated on an exquisite corpse. For those that do not know what an exquisite corpse is, it was a game that the Surrealists artists played some time ago, where one artist would start a drawing and pass it to the next, but the artist that received the drawing could not see what the other one had done. The piece is revealed and the drawings link together. Enough of me talking, all I need to say is that this event was dope! Art,  Good People, a FREE Danny Brown Concert, Beer, What more do you need?!?! ATL showed out last night. Enjoy!photo-17 copy photo-18 copy

Shouts to Complex Mag and Adidas. This was beautiful!

Soooo, this is probably one of the coolest and beautiful websites that I have seen in a long time. The Team at Jumpman 23 put together this informative site about Michael Jordan, his shoes and the stories behind them. To all my sneaker heads and those that are not, I hope you enjoy, learn, and admire this great work. Salute!

So I stumbled upon this artist Kumi Yamashita.Kumi received her bachelor in fine arts at the Cornish College of the Arts in Washington and obtained her masters in fine art from the Glasgow School of Art in the UK. In her series entitled Light & Shadow Kumi uses a single light source along with an assortment of perfectly placed objects to create incredible shadow silhouettes and artwork on walls. I had to do a double take on every piece. Her website is awesome too. Check out Yumi’s work HERE . She now resides and works in New York.

It doesn’t take much to gain my interest when I hear about a Spike Lee  Joint coming out.  He is one of my favorite directors to ever do it. Positive message, dope art direction, and all around smooth aesthetic.  This should not disappoint. The movie poster is cool as well. Red Hook Summer opens to limited release August 10.  I hope its coming to ATL.

So I know I blogged about this back in January when everything was being set up for the show.  I was selected and had the opportunity to show some of my art on this season of Single Ladies.  I have attached some screen shots from the episode and I even attached the full episode here as well.  I still am in disbelief that it actually got air time.  I am humbled and blessed to have an opportunity like this and I am glad that the painting has been so well received.  More to come very soon.  I promise. I wanted to try something new. Watercolors.  I haven’t messed with them much but I had fun with these studies. They might lead to something new. Enjoy

Thanks for supporting the blog everyone.  More to come soon.

OK, This guy is AMAZING!  Tom Lane, English Designer, Illustrator and Typenut is super inspiring.  He designs everything by hand which keeps us honest.  Check out his work HERE  I have posted images of the New Air Jordan Year of the Dragon Special Edition Shoes that he helped design, as well as the packaging.  #DOPE

Mad props to you man.  Keep em Comin!  I gotta step my game up.

Ok, so being in Ad School and studying principles of Design and Art Direction calls for some knowledge of the Pantone Color System.  This was an awesome way to have fun with it.  Props to David Marsh.  Check out More covers HERE
